Educational Therapy Philosophy
Compassion-Collaboration-Creativity
Dr. Young’s clinical approach to educational therapy incorporates essential tenets from cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, and foundational learning theories. Together, these axioms provide a holistic lens to honor and foster students’ abilities and social-emotional growth. Dr. Young empathically and dynamically connects with her clients to help them build upon their strengths, develop self-confidence, and master the mindful self-efficacy needed to achieve their goals.
Helping each child, adolescent, or adult reach their full potential by joyfully educating the whole person is at the forefront of Sage Learning Solutions’ mission. We firmly believe every student can excel and meet their full potential. Struggling students need to be seen and heard without judgment and taught to learn in a way that works for them. Embedded in every interaction and activity are social-emotional learning opportunities to help students build resilience and self-confidence to promote independence and success, all while fostering a love of learning.
Learning needs to be fun, engaging, and collaborative! The secret sauce to any educational therapy program is the inclusive, welcoming, and joyous relationship the student experiences with the clinician. Dr. Young has a unique ability to connect with all students. She excels in her ability to meld evidence-based and creative, out-of-the-box interventions to empower students to access their innate capabilities. Moreover, Dr. Young believes supporting parents is equally important as supporting students. She seamlessly coaches families on reframing academic challenges, employing mind-body-brain techniques to improve learning, and developing communication skills to empower struggling learners.
