Educational Therapy

Educational Therapy works!

The process of educational therapy employs a holistic, psychodynamic approach that addresses a student’s presenting behaviors, current achievement, and deeper self-perceptions, attitudes, and beliefs comprising their underlying barriers to learning.

The interactive, integrated, and developmental nature of educational therapy benefits learners who experience challenges with executive functioning, ADHD, phonemic awareness, reading fluency, comprehension, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and processing disorders.  The individualized process of educational therapy fosters student engagement, motivation, information processing - encoding, storage, retrieval, executive functioning, empathy, self-awareness, confidence, and communication skills.

Educational therapists are intimately aware that no two students learn the same, and all brains are malleable! Cognitive neuroscience has found that the dynamic interplay between mental and physical activity generates new neural pathways (neuroplasticity). For this reason, educational therapists optimistically, intentionally, and joyfully implement developmentally appropriate and engaging remediation methods and strategies.

Students thrive in the one-to-one educational therapy relationship because the learning is completely individualized, abundantly fun, and consistently collaborative!
